SCAT Outreach

Our vision is to take teams on the bus and around town to minister to the people of Sarasota. We call this evangelistic effort SCAT - Strategic Cultural Advancement Team. (SCAT also stands for Sarasota County Area Transit.) Our first team in (our Marines) went on December 28. We took a ride downtown, and walked to Whole Foods market. We walked through the market and silently prayed over the property and the people. We shared a testimony of healing with a lady, who days later showed up at F.O.B. for prayer! We also rode to the mall and shared with people there.

Where The Vision Came From...

In the 1700s, the Methodist church made a huge impact on America. They did something radical. They took brave men with a passion for people, and saddled them up! Brave souls traveled by horseback through wilderness and villages, preaching every day at any place available. They traveled a territory, or circuit, that was assigned to them. Unlike preachers of settled denominations, Methodist preachers were always on the move. They spared no effort to bring the church to the common people. These radicals were known as—circuit riders.

Friends, we are a long way from the 1700s, horseback riding, and shamefully, sparing no effort to bring the church to the common people. Will you SADDLE UP and take the Gospel to the people? Will you ride? We don’t have horses, but we do have wagons, or sorts. Buses . . . city buses running the “circuits” of Sarasota.

 

Like the circuit riders of the past, let’s dare to bring Jesus—to the people. Don’t miss this window of opportunity. This may only last a few months. If you are ready to SADDLE UP and take the Gospel to the streets, contact me this week! Are there any Circuit Riders in the House?
